ABOUT US Welcome to our Website.My name is Charmaine Delia of Exkas kennels located in a small island called Malta. I have always had dogs especially the German shepherd breed. My hobby when I was a child, was sleeping and playing with them, this was because I am without brothers and sisters. When I was nineteen years old I was saved by my mum cross breed Chihuahua called Tequila. It happened in the middle of the night when she started barking loudly, my mum opened my bedroom door and found my room all full of smoke because the fan was on fire. My mum carried me out because I was unconcious but if I had stayed a bit longer for sure I be dead. So from that time I understood that life without a dog is nothing. Four years later I married my husband John who is also a pet lover . Two weeks after our wedding we went to a horse race in Gozo and we saw an advert in a pet shop with a lovely photo of a black Pug, she was for sale so we decided to go and see her. When we saw her we decided immediately to get her, most of all because she had an injury in her eyes and I said that I will give her all the attention and treatment she needs. She was my first Pug and the year was 2001. After 2 or 3 months the scratch in her eyes was gone and we decided to take her to a dog show and in her 1st competition she won 2nd puppy bitch. After her we had 5 other pugs. Now I am a member of the Maltese Ladies Kennel Association & also the Treasurer of the Malta Pug dog club which was founded this year and our 1st show is going to be 1st &2nd of April 2006. In year 2004 my husband asked me what I wanted for my lucky birthday, so I suggested that we should go to Crufts again (the biggest dog show), he immediately said yes and I was counting the days already. We went but that was not the only good thing about my birthday present, he also took me to a top Bulldog kennel in the UK, Mystyle/Ocobo. We had a great visit and we would like to thank Kevin, Melanie, Norman, Pat & also to Inger of Multums Bulldogs-Sweden for their patience they had with us because we had never handled a bulldog. I wish to also thank Vicky Collins who suggested that we visited this Kennel. I also want to thank my friend Sissy of Soulguardian Kennels in Greece for all her help that she continues to give us. In the mean time we became friends with Patrick & Antonella of Nella's Bulls, after they saw Our bulldog Ozzy in the show ring. Now we are looking forward to getting another bulldog. |
